#maptimeDavis Humanitarian Mapathon

Spring quarter’s #maptimeDavis OpenStreetMap Humanitarian Mapathon will support disaster planning and relief by identifying routes and communities in satellite imagery.   Join the geospatial community on May 8, 2018, from 1:00-3:00 in the DSI Classroom (360 Shields Library) for an OSM editing session that includes a tutorial for those who are new or need a refresher.  No experience is necessary!

We’ll start the session by selecting a project to work on, follow it up with a tutorial on how to edit, and spend the rest of the time contributing to OSM. For those who prefer tablets or devices, you can also contribute through the app mapswipe.

How to prepare:

  • Register for the event.
  • Bring a laptop computer and a mouse
  • Create an OSM account and start the walk through – optional

#maptime Davis is brought to you by the UC Davis Library’s Data Management Program & the UC Davis Center for Spatial Sciences with help from Mapping Club at UC Davis and informal learning groups.  Space is generously provided by the Data Science Initiative (DSI).  More info: http://www.data.ucdavis.edu
